Terms of service

The agreement between you and us. Plain language, because you should be able to read it.

Last updated 26 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and the Pin My Map apps and website ("Pin My Map", "we", "us"), covering the Pin My Map apps and website. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use Pin My Map.

Who can use Pin My Map

You must be at least 16 years old to have an account. If the age of digital consent where you live is higher than that, you need your parent or guardian’s permission.

You need an account to use the app. Keep your password to yourself, because anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at pinmymap.link@gmail.com if you think someone else has got in.

What you put on your map

Your pins, notes, profile photo and friend tags stay yours. You give us permission to store them and to show them to the people you have chosen to share them with. That is all we need in order to run the service, and we do not use your content for anything else.

You are responsible for what you put on your map. In particular, please do not pin other people’s homes or whereabouts without their agreement, and do not upload a photo you do not have the right to use.

Things you must not do

  • Use Pin My Map to harass, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone.
  • Impersonate another person, or create an account in someone else’s name.
  • Add people to your map in order to monitor them rather than to keep in touch.
  • Scrape, bulk-download or resell anything from the service, or try to get at data that is not shared with you.
  • Upload anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or get around its limits.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we may do so without warning where someone’s safety is at stake.

Friends, reporting and blocking

Friendships on Pin My Map are mutual, so someone only sees your pins once you accept them. You can remove a friend, block a person, or report an account to us at any time. We review reports and decide what to do case by case, including removing content or closing accounts.

The service may change

We are actively building Pin My Map, so features may be added, changed or withdrawn. If we plan to discontinue something you rely on, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

Pin My Map is free to use today. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you before anything costs money, and the free features you already have will stay free.

Ending your account

You can delete your account from within the app whenever you like. Deleting it removes your profile and your pins, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may close accounts that break these terms, or if we stop offering the service.

No warranties

Pin My Map is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or that the information your friends put on their maps is accurate. Travel decisions you make off the back of it are your own.

Our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Pin My Map. Some things cannot be signed away, and we are not trying to. Nothing in these terms removes rights the law does not allow to be removed, and if you are a consumer you keep every protection your own country’s consumer law gives you.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell you in the app when the change is significant. Carrying on using Pin My Map after a change means you accept the new version.
